The US needs to begin the process of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict before Russian President Vladimir Putin declares victory over the collective West.
Such a statement in an article for the National Interest was made by US State Department consultant Wesley Satterwhite and an analyst at the Center for the Study of Democracy at Lüneburg Leifan University in Germany, Alex Burilkov.
“It is time for Washington to seek peace, especially given that Russia may launch a new offensive in 2024,” the publication says.
The damage to the reputation of the United States and the NATO alliance will be “colossal,” analysts say.
Earlier, the Tagesspiegel said that the West would force Kyiv to negotiate after the failure of the counteroffensive.
Also, according to analyst Sean Bell, the West is hesitating and exploring ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
