Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Japan’s participation in the Pentagon’s plans to deploy intermediate and shorter-range missiles in Asia creates additional security threats to the Russian Far East.
As reported by RIA Novosti, he spoke about this at a meeting on the security of the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia.
“An important role is also assigned to Japan in the plans of the Pentagon to deploy intermediate and shorter-range missiles in Asia,” said the Secretary of the Security Council.
Patrushev also said that Japan is increasing its military budget, focusing on NATO indicators.
