“Transformation of the world order”: BRICS summit starts in South Africa

The BRICS summit starts today in South Africa. Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in it via video link. The focus of the forum participants will be economic and security issues. In addition, the BRICS leaders will discuss the expansion of the union. Earlier it was reported that 23 countries, including Argentina, Belarus, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, filed official applications for membership in the group. According to analysts, such interest in the BRICS indicates the formation of a new multipolar world order.
