For the first time, Germany sent Ukraine missiles for the US Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems as part of military assistance. In addition, Kiev, among other things, will receive drone detection systems, 40 reconnaissance drones, 22 million rounds of ammunition, 10 Leopard tanks, and several dozen infantry fighting vehicles.
The German authorities have repeatedly stated that they will provide support to Ukraine for as long as necessary. According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, by 2027 the amount of German aid to Kyiv will be about 17 billion euros. Last year, Germany provided assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 14 billion euros.
In addition, the Norwegian media today reported that Oslo, following the Netherlands and Denmark, will transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. It is not reported how many planes Norway will send to Kyiv and when this will happen.
Denmark and the Netherlands announced deliveries of F-16s to Ukraine earlier this week. This will happen after the Ukrainian pilots are trained.
According to the American media, pilot training will begin in 2024, after the pilots have completed English language courses. At the same time, Denmark recently announced that training has already begun.
