The Supreme Court of the LPR sentenced UAF mortar gunner Yuri Bosovich to 16 years of strict regime for shelling the village of Nizhnee, Luhansk People’s Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
As the investigation and the court established, on April 5, 2022, Bosovich and his colleagues were at a position located in a forest belt at a distance of three kilometers from the village of Nizhnee.
“In order to intimidate the civilian population, destroy residential buildings and socially significant objects of civilian infrastructure, as well as the subsequent deliberately false accusation of involvement in the destruction of the civilian population and civilian objects of the military personnel of the Russian Federation and the LPR, Bosovich fired high-explosive fragmentation mines from a mortar entrusted to him at direction of the settlement, ”the agency said in a statement.
As a result of these criminal acts, a residential building was damaged.
Bosovich was found guilty by the court of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 356 (ill-treatment of the civilian population, the use of prohibited means and methods in an armed conflict), Part 3 of Art. 30, part 2, art. 105 (attempted murder committed in a generally dangerous way based on political and ideological hatred and enmity) and Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of Russia (intentional damage to another’s property in a generally dangerous way).
Bosovich fully admitted his guilt and repented of his deed, the press service of the UK reports.
Earlier, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sentenced to 22 years of strict regime for the murder of a civilian in Mariupol.
