This week’s Bem Viver on TV arrives with an edition dedicated to Plano Safra, the federal government’s funding program that has the largest volume of resources in history, with special attention to family farming.
In this program, we went to Moreno, a city in the Recife Metropolitan Region, to show the work of farmers from the Che Guevara Settlement of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST). There, they are starting a transition from traditional agriculture to the agroforestry system, respecting agroecological principles and ensuring diverse food production.
We are going to show how initiatives similar to this one in Pernambuco, which focus on agroecology, can be boosted with public investment and, with that, benefit rural and city workers.
We also show how rural credit can transform the lives of rural women: there is an interview with Sirley Ferreira, from the Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas, and a report with farmers from the interior of Tocantins.
Do you like to learn new recipes? In the segment Comida de Verdade, made in partnership with Gastronomia Periférica, chef Gema Soto teaches the step-by-step of a typical dish from the Venezuelan countryside: angel hair.
