The Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, reported a severe fire on the territory of an enterprise in occupied Berdyansk. The day before, according to Fedorov, military equipment was brought there. He did not comment on the possible causes of the fire, hinting that it was not accidental.
Video with black smoke over the city is published by Ukrainian telegram channels. They note that the fire, apparently, occurred on the territory of the Dormash plant. The shelling of the city was not reported, as well as the sounds of explosions.
Vladimir Rogov, an official in the Russian-appointed administration of the Zaporozhye region, wrote that industrial waste in an open area caught fire in Berdyansk. The fire has been extinguished. The fire area, according to Rogov, amounted to 150 square meters.
Berdyansk is located on the coast of the Sea of Azov, in the Russian-occupied territory of the Zaporozhye region. The Ukrainian military has previously carried out several rocket attacks on military targets in the city, located far from the front line.
