Shawarma producers have announced their intention to increase the price of food by an average of 10-15% from September.
Izvestia was told about this in several retail chains.
It is clarified that the main reason for shawarma is the rise in price of chicken. As a result, the dish may rise in price from the current 190-250 rubles to 210-300 rubles.
As an alternative, some businessmen can go for shrinkflation – start saving on serving size.
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture notes that the rise in prices for poultry meat is seasonal and in September the market is expected to reduce the cost of production.
Earlier, the Receipt Index resource of the OFD Platform company presented statistics according to which the number of fast food purchases in Russia increased by 8% with an increase in the average check by 10% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
