Ukraine independently decides how to conduct military operations, the Pentagon said, commenting on statements about Washington’s support for strikes in Crimea.
“The United States made it clear that Crimea is part of Ukraine, and Ukraine will decide how, when and where to conduct operations,” RIA Novosti quotes a message from the US military department.
Earlier, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Kyiv had agreed with its Western partners “the destruction of everything Russian, for example, in Crimea.”
Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014: the majority of residents voted for reunification with Russia.
