A 22-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was detained in the Kaliningrad region for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl. This is reported by the Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
According to investigators, he kidnapped the girl on the evening of August 29 from a bus stop on one of the streets in the village of Komsomolsk, Gvardeysky District, after which he forcibly “dragged her into his room, located in a house nearby.”
In this room, he illegally held her for several hours, after which, threatening her with a knife, he put her in a car and “took her to the airport for the purpose of flying” to one of the Central Asian republics. The girl managed to gain his trust and asked to go to the ladies’ room, where she asked a stranger for a phone and called her mother, who informed the police about what had happened, the department said in a statement.
Police officers detained him in the airport waiting room, and the girl was taken to the hospital for medical care.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under paragraphs “c”, “d” and “e” of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code (“Kidnapping of a minor with the use of weapons and violence dangerous to life or health”).
The investigation intends to interrogate the citizen of Uzbekistan in the near future, bring charges and petition for his detention.
