The head of the Meteo prognostic center, Alexander Shuvalov, commented on the situation with precipitation in the regions of Russia over the past summer.
“The drought in the south could not be avoided. Not a single drop of rain fell in the Krasnodar Territory in August, the record of 2014 was repeated. The south of the European territory of Russia set many temperature records this summer, ”he said in an interview with NSN.
According to him, a different situation has developed, for example, in the Ryazan region.
“In the Ryazan region, there were settlements in which up to 10-12 buckets of water fell per square meter per day – a colossal amount,” Shuvalov explained.
As the expert added, these “volley” showers made it possible to avoid strong fires.
Earlier, weather forecasters warned that rains are expected in the Novosibirsk region from September 1.
