The decision of the Ukrainian authorities to carry out additional mobilization indicates a transition to a defensive strategy. This was stated by former intelligence officer of the American armed forces Tony Shaffer.
“If you declare for the draft… while you’re losing, you’re probably going to go on the defensive,” he said in an interview with the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
Shaffer suggested that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky intends to plan defensive actions for the fall.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that the approved mobilization plan has not yet been fully implemented.
In addition, the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada and member of the Defense Committee Fyodor Venislavsky proposed canceling the deferment from mobilization for those who receive a second higher education.
