Fraudsters have come up with a new deception scheme to steal funds from the accounts of Russians. The attackers call victims allegedly from the departments of telecom operators and warn them that their SIM card has expired.
The Izvestia newspaper reports this.
Fraudsters request an SMS code that allows them to receive login information for their personal account in banking applications.
“They receive this SMS, go into the bank’s personal account and do what they want there,” the message clarifies.
Earlier, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov spoke in a conversation with RT about a fraud scheme, according to which a call comes through a messenger, supposedly the Gosuslug operator is checking whether the user has changed the password to enter the portal.
Sberbank also warned that scammers have come up with a scheme to deceive Russians who respect family values.
