Baltika General Director Kirill Volzhenkin said that the club’s management does not plan to part with head coach Sergei Ignashevich.
“What is the credit of head coach Sergei Ignashevich? We trust him 100%. We have a development concept, and the club follows its principles. And we don’t plan to move away from them,” Match TV quotes Volzhenkin.
According to him, the main point of the concept is the focus on young football players who are hungry for victories and have something to prove.
“We are not afraid to trust them. The result of the game with Zenit in the cup match (1:0) proved that the club did not make this decision in vain. We plan to move further in the same direction,” added Volzhenkin.
Ignashevich took charge of Baltika in October 2021 and led them to the Russian Premier League (RPL) the following season. The Kaliningrad team returned to the top division of Russian football after 25 years.
Earlier, the Baltika footballer said that he showed Claudinho the score in the match with Zenit.
