Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva announced on her social networks that she had a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang.
“It was a pleasure to meet Premier Li (Qiang) again. We had a productive conversation and I look forward to continuing to work with China to address pressing global challenges, especially climate change and supporting developing and vulnerable economies,” TASS quoted her as saying.
Georgieva also said that she met with the new chairman of the People’s Bank of China, Pan Gongshen.
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the BRICS countries should oppose economic coercion.
