The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Semyon Kochkin on the federal wanted list for the creator and administrator of the anti-war telegram channel “Angry Chuvashia”. The activist himself reported this.
The reason for the search, according to Kochkin, was a case opened against him in March of this year for repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The reason for initiating the case was a man’s post in the “Angry Chuvashia” channel about a native of Chuvashia, the head of the Main Computing Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Robert Baranov, who, as The Insider wrote, led the launch of cruise missiles against Kiev.
Previously, the man was fined three times under an administrative article (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) for anti-war posts about the revolt of the mobilized Chuvash people, about the residents of Chuvashia who died in the war in Ukraine, and videos against mobilization that he posted in his telegram channel and the “Angry Chuvashia” channel “. In total, the court imposed a fine of 110 thousand rubles on Kochkin, which he refused to pay. The activist also said that he appealed all court decisions.
In October 2022, the Russian Ministry of Justice declared Kochkin a “foreign agent.”
Previously, Semyon Kochkin headed Navalny’s headquarters in Chuvashia. Since 2021, he has been living in Georgia, where he left for fear of persecution for opposition activities.
