German tennis player Alexander Zverev during the fourth round match of the 2023 US Open with Italian Jannik Sinner drew the referee’s attention to a fan who uttered a phrase from the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler.
“He just said Hitler’s most famous line. This is unthinkable,” Zverev told the referee during the fourth set.
Security at the stadium found the fan 10 minutes later and escorted him out of the stadium. The audience cheered his departure.
Earlier, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev assessed the behavior of a fan at the US Open.
