SberNPF Executive Director Alla Palshina told how to correctly calculate the amount of pocket money for children.
In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Palshina said that for parents, pocket money is, first of all, an opportunity to “cover” the basic needs of their children while they are away from home.
If meals are not provided at school and parents do not pack lunch with them, the specialist advises giving the child pocket money based on the cost of lunch and 50-100 rubles for unforeseen expenses.
The expert also advises taking into account the schedule of classes, clubs, sections, as well as their distance from home.
“If he (the child. – RT) goes to additional classes on his own after school, you should take into account how likely the child will get hungry before they start or at the end and what would be best for him: have dinner in a nearby cafe, buy a snack in a store, or different,” she said.
Previously, financial consultant and investor Tatyana Volkova advised parents who want to instill financial frugality in their children to teach this by personal example.
