Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced a fourfold increase in the country’s defense spending since 2015.
“I compare 2015 and 2024. In 2015 – 37 billion, in 2024 – more than 150 billion zlotys, about 155 billion (about $36 billion). This is plus or minus a fourfold increase, an increase of 400%,” RIA Novosti quotes him.
Global military spending in 2022 was the highest in eight years, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
At the end of March, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said that Ukraine’s defense spending per month amounted to $3.5 billion.
