Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has revealed that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland should win the Ballon d’Or in 2023.
“Holand? Over 50 goals, Premier League title, FA Cup and Champions League. I know a lot of people can’t stop supporting Messi, but look at the big picture. Many tame journalists will vote for Messi. The big picture is that Haaland has achieved everything in a short period of time,” Burley was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
Goal has provided a ranking of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or in 2023.
The leader of the list is Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi, who won the World Cup in Qatar with the Argentina national team.
Haaland is in second position. The team won four trophies last season, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
The third is Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé.
Earlier, Messi admitted that he was tired after the match between Argentina and Ecuador.
