The “Single Voting Day” has started in Russia: from September 8 to 10, Russians will elect heads of 26 federal subjects, including the so-called “new regions” – the occupied parts of the Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. Some regions are already reporting violations during the electoral process, writes Sota.
In the city of Sosnovoborsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, according to the regional portal TVK, voters are offered up to one thousand rubles if they vote for a representative of United Russia. “I can say for sure that many of my friends agreed. This is easy money, easy earnings. This is practiced all the time, before every election. To be honest, once upon a time I agreed,” TVK quotes one of the residents of Sosnovoborsk.
The publication also reports that public sector employees in Krasnoyarsk were given a memo on how to vote for United Russia.
Sota reports that in the Altai village of Ongudai, ambulance workers are brought to the polling station in official carriages, and a senior paramedic forces them to vote.
And in Novokuznetsk, at a polling station located in a boarding school for elderly people with disabilities, voters are treated to free sandwiches.
Earlier it was reported that the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation canceled the elections in the Shebekinsky urban district, located on the border with Ukraine. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, the vote was postponed due to the “introduction of a high alert regime on the territory of the municipality.” Thus, as the head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation clarified, elections to the council of deputies of the Shebekinsky urban district and deputies of the zemstvo assembly of the Zhuravlevsky rural settlement in the municipal district of the Belgorod region will not take place.
