The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, on the evening of Thursday, September 7, announced a drone attack on an industrial facility, which resulted in a fire.
Bogomaz did not name the company, adding that the drone was suppressed by electronic warfare and fell on an administrative building. The fire that resulted from the fall of the drone was extinguished, there were no casualties or injuries, the official reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the drone attack on Bryansk, adding that one of the drones of the Russian air defense forces was shot down in the air, and the second was “intercepted.”
Bryansk telegram channels reported that the target of the drone attack could be one of the largest microelectronics manufacturers in the Russian Federation – the Silicon El plant. It produces, among other things, components for Pantsir air defense systems and Iskander missile systems.
According to the Mash telegram channel, the regional editorial office of Europe Plus radio is located in the administrative building that was attacked by a drone.
Earlier Thursday, the governor of the Bryansk region reported three drone attacks on the region. All drones, according to Bogomaz, were shot down by air defense systems or suppressed by electronic warfare. The wreckage of one of the drones “partially damaged the glazing of the building of the Bryansk I railway station, the station square and several cars.” The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on two downed drones over the territory of the Bryansk region.
