The head of the Ministry of Energy Nikolai Shulginov said during the WEF that the current production of Russian liquefied natural gas in the country is not enough to satisfy all the demand for it on the foreign market.
RIA Novosti writes about this.
He noted that demand for Russian LNG exists all over the world – not only from partners in Southeast Asia, but also in Europe.
Answering the question whether the entire world demand for Russian LNG is currently covered by current projects, the minister answered in the negative and stated that the demand for pipeline gas was greater.
At the same time, LNG supplies are increasing, since they are more efficient compared to pipeline supplies, Shulginov said.
He also said that exports of liquefied natural gas from Russia have increased by several percent since the beginning of the year.
