Next year, Taiwan’s armed forces will receive 1,440 TOW 2B anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and a Javelin man-portable anti-tank missile system from Washington.
This is stated in the publication of the Taipei Shibao newspaper, TASS reports.
The publication stated that US military assistance to Ukraine did not affect supplies to Taiwan. The contract for the transfer of 1,700 ATGMs for TOW 2B, as well as 400 missiles for Javelin, was signed in 2019. It is also reported that deliveries scheduled for 2024 will close the deal.
Earlier, the Pentagon said it had approved the possible sale of equipment for F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan for $500 million.
