German UFC fighter Nasrat Haqparast spoke about the rematch between Russian fighter Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira at UFC 294.
“Man, I really think Makhachev is number one pound-for-pound. He will show his class. I trained with Islam, he is a good friend of mine. Oliveira fight? Islam on another level. He will destroy Oliveira and hopefully top the UFC pound-for-pound rankings,” Haqparast was quoted as saying by MMA Junkie.
The fight between Makhachev and Oliveira will take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) at the UFC 294 tournament.
In October 2022, the 31-year-old Russian won the title by choking out Oliveira in the second round. In February, the fighter made his first defense, defeating Australian Alex Volkanovski by unanimous decision.
Earlier it was reported that Khabib Nurmagomedov plans to fly to the Makhachev-Oliveira fight.
