Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reacted to his defeat in the final of the US Open to Serbian Novak Djokovic on his wedding anniversary.
“Two years ago I won here and talked about what a great gift it was for my wife. Today is crap. Usually the dates change, but today is Sunday again – the wedding anniversary,” Medvedev said at a press conference.
The 27-year-old tennis player from Russia lost to Djokovic in the final of the US Open in three sets with a score of 3:6, 6:7, 3:6.
Thus, Medvedev lost in the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the fourth time in his career. He has one victory at the US Open – 2021.
It was previously reported that Djokovic is the oldest US Open winner in history.
