Italian figure skater Daniel Grassl, who violated the anti-doping rules, withdrew from the second pre-season tournament in a row.
The press service of the International Skating Union (ISU) announced the refusal to participate in the competition.
The athlete was entered for the Lombardia Trophy and Nebelhorn Trophy tournaments, but his name disappeared from the starting lists. The reasons for the removal of the skater are not reported.
On September 5, Grassl announced his departure from Eteri Tutberidze. The 22-year-old Italian has been training with the Russian specialist since the end of 2022. On September 6, the communications service of the National Anti-Doping Organization of Italy (NADO Italia) reported that the skater had missed three doping tests.
Earlier, the silver medalist of the 2018 Olympics Alexander Enbert commented on the termination of cooperation between Grassl and Tutberidze.
