Auto expert Konstantin Ligachev, in a conversation with RT, commented on the proposal of the deputy of the legislative assembly of St. Petersburg Pavel Krupnik to suspend the right to drive a vehicle (“freeze” the driver’s license) when the driver has ten or more unpaid fines.
“Unpaid fines are, of course, bad. On the other hand, we have car owners who are not very computer friendly and do not know that they have a fine. Some car owners do not receive reliable notifications,” the expert believes.
According to him, it can also take a lot of time to challenge the fines.
“There are many nuances,” Ligachev emphasized.
Previously, in Russia it was proposed to temporarily deprive drivers of their driving privileges if they have 10 unpaid fines.
