Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Vice Premier of the Chinese State Council Zhang Guoqing, conveyed greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to convey my best wishes to the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, with whom we have established friendly relations, both business and personal,” RIA Novosti quotes Putin as saying.
He noted that this helps develop bilateral relations.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko and his Chinese counterpart He Rong discussed issues of countering sanctions pressure on the sidelines of the tenth meeting of the ministers of justice of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Also, Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Rudenko said that Russia’s turn to Asia is not forced, this policy has always been in line with Russia’s strategic goals.
