The new head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Yoko Kamikawa, said that Tokyo will continue sanctions against Russia, but at the same time, in relations with Moscow, it will proceed from its national interests.
“Our country… has adopted strong sanctions against Russia and intends to continue them,” RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.
At the same time, Kamikawa clarified that in economic activities such as fishing, as well as in matters of maritime security, Japan will act in accordance with national interests.
Earlier, the entire Japanese government resigned.
It also became known that Russia plans to appoint an ambassador to Japan.
