The US Department of Defense has published a summary of its secret cyber strategy for 2023, which calls Russia a “serious threat” to the United States. It is also noted that the document is based on an analysis of the conflict in Ukraine. Lessons learned from combat operations will be taken into account when developing US cyber capabilities, the Pentagon explained. In particular, Washington has recognized the importance of using cyber capabilities both as part of and alongside other components of its military capabilities. The department also reported the need to “fight and win” in the event of “failure of deterrence” in cyberspace. According to experts, all this indicates that the United States is preparing for more active competition with Russia in the field of cybersecurity.
