The State Council of Tatarstan has exempted owners of electric vehicles from paying transport tax. The corresponding law was adopted in the first reading and in general.
Oilcapital.ru reports this with reference to the press service of the parliament.
It follows from the document that from January 1, 2024, owners of vehicles, including motorcycles, scooters and trucks with electric engines, will be completely exempt from transport tax until the end of 2028, and from 2029, they will pay only half of the fee for another year.
The law will come into force after it is signed by the rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Earlier, the director of the analytical agency Autostat, Sergei Tselikov, in a conversation with NSN, said that the demand for electric vehicles in Russia is actively growing.
