The Russian Ministry of Defense on the morning of September 14, after a series of explosions in the Yevpatoriya region in annexed Crimea, announced that 11 aircraft-type drones had been shot down over the peninsula. An hour and a half before the official announcement, residents of Yevpatoria and its environs reported on social networks about drone flights and powerful explosions. Traffic on the Crimean Bridge is temporarily blocked.
Messages about drone flights, explosions and roars in the Yevpatoria area began appearing on social networks around 5 a.m. local time.
Telegram channels publish videos and photos of a large column of smoke from the explosion: the column of smoke is illuminated by a glow, probably from a fire.
The Ukrainian telegram channel “Crimean Wind” writes with reference to its subscribers that there were about 15 explosions, the most powerful one thundered at 5:40 local time somewhere west of Yevpatoria.
The Ukrainian television and radio company Suspilne, citing local residents, reports that the explosion occurred near the village of Uyutnoye – according to sources, military unit No. 85683 is located there.
Several military units are located in the Yevpatoriya region in annexed Crimea. Not far from it is the Saki military airfield, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already attacked.
RBC writes about the blocking of traffic on the Crimean Bridge. It is located 250 km from Yevpatoria, at the other end of the Crimean peninsula.
The Russian Ministry of Defense and the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported several drone attacks on the night of September 14.
According to the ministry, at the beginning of one o’clock in the morning local time, two aircraft-type drones were shot down over Brasovo and Starodub – these are towns in the south of the Bryansk region, near the border with Ukraine, at half past one – another one, and after a while – another one.
On the evening of September 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced three drones shot down over the Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced that another drone was shot down over the region. “The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation destroyed an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle over the Bryansk region. There were no casualties or damage,” Bogomaz wrote in his Telegram channel.
