The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv arrested Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich for two months without the right to bail on charges of treason.
“(The court – RT) chose a preventive measure for People’s Deputy Shufrich: detention for two months without the right to post bail,” says the report of the Ukrainian publication “Public”.
Shufrich’s lawyers said they plan to appeal the decision.
Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) arrested the former chairman of the Ukrainian Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev, on charges of a $2.7 million bribe.
