Former player of the Russian national football team Alexander Mostovoy responded to the statement of the head coach of Spartak Moscow Guillermo Abascal addressed to him.
“Never in my life would I want to be in Guillermo Abascal’s shoes. Because he somehow ends up in places he shouldn’t be. I don’t want to say that he shouldn’t be in Spartak at the moment. He just got there by accident. People who come to coaching from football cannot find normal work, but people like Abascal get a great chance.
And if he wants to find out something about Mostovoy, then let him go to the Internet. There is YouTube, there is Wikipedia. You can open it and see how I played and play football. And I’m not interested in what else Abaskal will say about me. He is not a football person. His opinion is not important to me. It’s just that now he was offended by my comments, because no one likes the truth. That’s why he says this,” Mostovoy told RT.
The former Celta player also noted that he would rather prefer a former football player than a coach who did not perform at a high level, regardless of the results.
“If Abascal wins the trophy with Spartak this season, he will still not become higher for me professionally. He doesn’t know what professional football is. And Valery Karpin, who has not yet been destined to win a trophy, will stand above Abascal for me as a coach. This is my clear position, and I will never change my opinion,” Mostovoy added.
Chief Abaskal told how he feels about criticism from Mostovoy.
