President of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Alexei Morozov believes that the records of Kazan Ak Bars forward Vadim Shipachev will attract more children to play sports.
“This can be an incentive for children to grow and strive for new heights, because nothing lasts forever. Vadim is one of the main hockey players in the entire KHL. He is an outstanding player, you cannot take away his credentials. Over the course of many KHL seasons, Vadim has shown excellent results,” RIA Novosti quotes Morozov.
According to the Olympic silver medalist, previously there were some record holders in Russia, but now there are others.
“Every young man should strive to surpass these records and write his name in the history of Russian hockey,” Morozov added.
Shipachev repeated Sergei Mozyakin’s record for points in the KHL regular championships. The 36-year-old Russian scored the 756th (239 + 517) point.
Earlier it was reported that Ak Bars beat Beijing Kunlun Red Star in a match of the KHL regular season.
