The Federal Tax Service said that from October 1, the value added tax for fast food will increase to 20%.
RBC reports this with reference to a letter from the department.
It is clarified that the Federal Tax Service will introduce into the All-Russian Classification of Products by Type of Economic Activities (OKPD 2) a special code for “sandwich-type” products, including hamburger, cheeseburger and similar products.
As Interfax notes, previously the corresponding food was not indicated in the classifier as an independent dish, and therefore trading enterprises could classify such products as non-durable bakery products, taxed at a rate of 10%.
Previously, shawarma producers announced their intention to increase the price of dishes by an average of 10-15% from September.
