Davis Cup finalist Andrei Chesnokov believes that Alina Korneeva demonstrated a good game at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament in France.
“I think this is a very good result, Alina showed a decent performance at the tournament. She was a little short in the finals, but defeats also happen in sports,” TASS quotes Chesnokov.
He once again repeated that he considers 16-year-old Korneeva a promising tennis player.
“I think that, despite the loss, she will gain even more confidence after this tournament,” Chesnokov added.
Korneeva was defeated in the final by Celine Nef from Switzerland. But with the Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro became the winner in doubles.
Let us remind you that the Russian woman is the winner of two junior Grand Slam singles tournaments (Australian Open and Roland Garros).
Earlier, Chesnokov called Rublev’s victory at the exhibition tournament in Germany expected.
