Former Strasbourg midfielder Alexander Mostovoy spoke about the career of Alexander Golovin in Ligue 1.
“I think Alexander Golovin managed to become a leader in Monaco. Both in terms of decent play for the team and in terms of the number of years spent at the club. Six years is a decent amount of time. Therefore, I can confidently call him the leader of the Monegasques. Over the years, he has gone from being a reserve player to becoming a main player. Time flies very quickly, it seemed that just recently he was just leaving CSKA for France,” Mostovoy told RT.
Also, the former midfielder of the Russian national team noted that Golovin should not leave the Cote d’Azur of France and go to another championship.
“As for continuing his career, I think he shouldn’t go anywhere. We need stability. Yes, the team does not play in European competitions, but it did last season. And it’s not a fact that it won’t happen in the future. Moreover, this year Monaco can provide worthy competition to PSG. The results of the Parisians this season are very unconvincing, so I consider the Monegasques to be one of the contenders for the championship. So there is no point in leaving, it is not a fact that he will be able to gain a foothold and be a first-team player somewhere in Germany. This takes time,” Mostovoy added.
Earlier, Golovin spoke about the captain’s armband in the match of the fifth round of Ligue 1 with Lorient.
