The Public Ministry of Pernambuco (MPPE) will investigate the connection between eight homicides in the Metropolitan Region of Recife between Thursday (14) and Friday (15). The agency installed two Criminal Investigative Procedures to gather information about the cases.
The MP wants to investigate and understand the relationship between the death of two military police officers on Thursday (14), in Camaragibe, and the murder of six people from the same family in the same city and in Paudalho, on Friday (15) .

The two PMS, Eduardo Roque Barbosa and Rodolfo José da Silva, were shot dead during an approach to investigate a report of disturbing the peace. According to local news, the police officers were allegedly shot by Alex Samurai, a sports shooter with a weapon registered as a CAC (Collector, Shooter and Hunter). In addition to the police officers, a seven-month pregnant woman and a 14-year-old teenager were injured.
On Friday (15), shooter Alex Samurai and five of his family members were killed sequentially. Among the victims were Alex’s mother and wife. The murder of Alex’s three brothers was recorded on a live stream made by one of the victims at the moment she was executed by three hooded men.

The governor of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra, classified the crimes as “barbaric” and announced that the Special Operations Group (GOE) will investigate the case. She also offered solidarity to the families of the soldiers killed on Thursday (14).
