The Federal Court denied a request from the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) for the arrest of the three agents of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) involved in the death of three-year-old girl Heloísa dos Santos Silva, who died after being shot in a traffic stop in Seropédica (RJ ), in the Baixada Fluminense region.
The arrest request had been formalized by the MPF on Thursday (15). The girl died the next day. She was hospitalized for nine days in a hospital in the city of Duque de Caxias after being shot by one of the PRF agents during an approach on the September 7th holiday.
According to TV Globo, despite having denied the arrest request, the Court ordered the agents involved to remain away from their duties, hand over their weapons and start wearing electronic ankle bracelets, in addition to staying away from the girl’s family and their car.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Police (PF). The PRF removed the agents involved in the case. Agent Fábio Menacho Ferreira admitted to having fired the shots.
He claimed that, at the time, he identified that the car in which Heloísa’s family was traveling was registered as stolen and, therefore, there was a chase. Menacho stated that he fired the shots because he heard a noise similar to a gunshot, which seemed to have come from the car where she was with her family.
