Residents of the Porto Alegre islands are looking to get back to their routine after a sunny weekend. However, they say they are apprehensive about rain in the coming days, according to forecasts from MetSul Meteorologia.
The municipal Civil Defense issued an alert, this Monday (18), for the possibility of flooding in the riverside regions of the city. In the morning, Guaíba once again reached the flood level (2.2 meters) on Ilha da Pintada.

This Sunday (17), photo reporter Jorge Leão was in the region of the islands of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and recorded the situation experienced by families affected by the flood. Flooding has persisted since the heavy rains that hit the state.
On Flores Island, the waters of the Guaíba and Jacuí River had already dropped considerably, allowing vehicles and pedestrians to pass through. However, there are still houses in flooded areas, and in some cases boat assistance is necessary.

On Ilha da Pintada, Rua Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem remains closed due to flooding, even almost a week after the most recent storm.
