The mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported about the explosions in Kyiv; he explained this by the work of air defense systems and called on Kiev residents to stay in shelters.
The head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko, said that “as a result of air defense work to shoot down enemy targets, debris fell in the Goloseevsky and Darnitsky districts of the capital.” According to preliminary information, debris damaged a gas pipe in the Shevchenko district, he added.
Vitali Klitschko later confirmed the damage to the gas pipe. “There is no fire. The gas service is on site,” the Kiev mayor wrote, adding that in some microdistricts of the Svyatoshinsky district there was no power.
In the Darnitsky district of Kyiv, seven people were injured from falling rocket debris. Three were taken to hospital, including a nine-year-old girl, Klitschko said. In different areas of Kyiv, buildings received various damage from falling debris.
The Kiev city military administration reported that air defenses shot down over 20 air targets. Their type is not specified; the exact number will be reported by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
An hour after the air raid went off, it was announced again. According to the Air Force, a group of missiles is flying towards the Kyiv region from the direction of the Chernigov region.
Five people were injured in Cherkassy as a result of debris hitting a social infrastructure facility, said the head of the regional military administration, Igor Taburets. According to him, at least one person is under the rubble and rescue operations are underway.
Later, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klimenko, reported seven wounded. According to him, rocket debris fell on the hotel building. As a result, a fire broke out and the trading pavilions in the market also caught fire.
“Seven people were injured, ten people were evacuated. One person was rescued from the rubble. All services are working on the spot,” the message says.
Six explosions occurred in Kharkov, the local regional administration reported. According to preliminary information, the Russian military carried out all attacks on the Slobodsky district of the city. According to the head of the OVA, Igor Terekhov, two people were injured as a result of the morning shelling, both were hospitalized.
Russian troops launched three missile strikes on Drohobych in the Lviv region, said the head of the OVA, Maxim Kozitsky. According to him, the Russian military struck the industrial facility twice, the workshop and the destroyed warehouse building caught fire. Another missile strike hit a private two-story house, and a fire broke out there as well. There is no information about injuries yet.
