Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that after the anti-terrorist operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, more favorable conditions have emerged for a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
He announced this during a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar, TASS reports.
“President Ilham Aliyev noted that currently there are more favorable conditions in the region for a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” his press service quotes Aliyev as saying.
The President also informed the EU Special Representative that weapons and shells were already being confiscated in Karabakh, and that a large number of weapons warehouses had been discovered.
Earlier it was reported that foreign military attaches arrived in the Stepanakert area to get acquainted with the situation and the process of disarmament of the Karabakh forces.
