The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that no hazardous products have been identified after the release of water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Russia, but there will be an accumulation effect.
RIA Novosti writes about this.
“To date, no dangerous products have been identified,” she noted.
Popova clarified that there is an accumulation effect.
This process has just begun and has not manifested itself in any way, however, accumulation cannot but occur, as the quantity and volume will increase, she added.
On September 1, the operator of the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant, TEPCO, discovered tritium in the sea for the first time since it began discharging low-level radioactive water.
Interfax later reported that the Primorye interregional department of Rosselkhoznadzor, as part of the radiological control of fish products, did not reveal any violations in fish obtained from the site of the discharge of weakly radioactive water from the Japanese Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
