Venezuelan authorities have called on the UN to create a zone where financial transactions, trade and investment will be protected from Western sanctions.
As reported by RIA Novosti, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Ivan Khil, announced this at the UN General Assembly.
He proposed the creation of a zone free from unilateral coercive measures, in which financial transactions and interbank payments could be carried out and which would guarantee direct investment and legal trade between states without risks and “punitive obstacles” from the West.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at the general political discussion of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, once again pointed out the illegality of Western sanctions against other countries.
