Kyiv has maximally simplified the conditions of stay for foreign mercenaries who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also introduced an accelerated procedure for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship for them.
This was stated by the Chairman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine, Natalya Naumenko, as reported by the Izvestia newspaper.
“For our part, we have made it as easy as possible for such people to stay in Ukraine,” she said.
According to Naumenko, the period of stay on the territory of Ukraine was extended for mercenaries if it had already expired.
In addition, as the newspaper notes, these persons were exempted from the need to prepare documents for temporary residence.
Previously, a Spanish mercenary who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces complained about the meager equipment of the army.
Also, the Russian Investigative Committee opened cases against 200 mercenaries fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
