On the night of September 28, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 drones. This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the Ukrainian military, the attack was carried out from the southwestern direction – drones were launched from the Krasnodar Territory and annexed Crimea.
When repelling the attack, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups were involved, and 34 out of 44 drones were destroyed, the command said in a statement.
The attack was previously reported by the speaker of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine Natalya Gumenyuk. According to her, Russian troops launched several groups of attack drones across Ukraine, and air defense worked virtually along the entire southern direction. “The attack was massive, but the work of the air defense was quite effective – more than 30 drones were destroyed. A more accurate figure will be announced by the General Staff and the Air Force,” Ukrayinska Pravda quotes her as saying.
The head of the administration of the Nikolaev region, Alexander Kim, reported that in the Stepovskaya community, as a result of the fall of debris from a drone shot down by air defense forces, a utility building was damaged. There were no casualties.
