Russian Ambassador to Italy Alexey Paramonov said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the majority of Italians want a speedy end to the Ukrainian conflict, the lifting of sanctions and a return to a mutually beneficial dialogue with Russia.
“The majority of Italians are clearly in favor of maintaining friendly relations with Russia,” the diplomat said.
Also, according to him, most Italians understand perfectly well that the conflict in Ukraine does not stop due to the supply of large quantities of weapons and other military assistance to Kyiv.
Paramonov also said that Italy indirectly became a participant in the conflict on the side of Kyiv. However, according to him, despite the “dramatic moment” in relations between the two countries, the point of no return has not yet been passed.
