Bolsonarista Ana Priscila Azevedo, imprisoned for 8 months, for participating in and helping to organize the events of January 8th, gave testimony this Thursday (28th), at the CPI on Anti-Democratic Acts of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) . The deponent denied having committed crimes, but confirmed that members of the Army helped the coup plotters to escape and spoke about the lack of police on the Esplanada on the day of the events.
Ana Priscila was arrested on January 10, in Luziânia (GO), where according to her she was “taking patriots”. During the interrogation she repeated several Bolsonarist theses, such as the demand for “auditable ballot boxes” and source codes. Because she has several videos that prove her participation in the events, she has been identified as an infiltrator, so much so that the request for her participation was presented by deputy Paula Belmonte (Citizenship).
“How am I going to be infiltrated, if I have been investigated for my actions since 2019”, asked the deponent, adding: “I am right-wing, patriotic and a convinced Christian”.
Congresswoman Paula presented an old video of the deponent criticizing former president Bolsonaro to question whether she was an infiltrator. Ana Priscila said that the video was from 2019, when she saw a video of the former Brazilian president praising the former president of Venezuela Hugo Chávez, but who later began to “love and respect” Bolsonaro.
Questioned by the president of the CPI, Chico Vigilante (PT), about the participation of members of the Army in the escape of several coup plotters the night after the acts, Ana Priscila said that they were warned that there were arrests in the morning. “I received messages and everyone knew from dawn that in the morning they had to leave the place”, narrated the witness, adding that the coup plotters were warned by members of the Army, but she was unable to name names.
Ana Priscila says she was arrested by mistake, as she went to Praça dos Três Poderes, but did not promote a break. “What I saw on the 8th was an inert police force. Who did absolutely nothing. I was born and raised in Brasília, I have participated in several events and I have never seen the square of the three powers unmanned”, highlighted the deponent when asked about the actions of the DF Military Police.
Deputy Fábio Félix (PSOL) questioned Ana Priscila’s version of describing herself as “innocent”, despite the countless audios and videos. “You could speak out against Lula or anyone you want, but you went further. You called the demonstrations a seizure of power. And you vocalize this in the audios. You talk about taking over refineries”, asked the deputy.
